UK Car Repair: steering rack, vauxhall vectra, tyre pressures

Question
i have a vauxhall vectra estate 1.9 cdti elite 2005. when driving at any speed, the knap of the road pulls the steering wheel in either direction. i have been told it most probably is the steering rack as it is a common fault on the vectra. if you let go of the steering wheel for a second it would pull you into oncoming traffic its that bad.

Answer
First, Check the tyre pressures and adjust, I think it's 28PSI, but check the sticker inside the door frame.

If theres no difference you will need to get the suspsension and steering checked out -
Where are you based? - I'll find you a good garage who can do the inspection -

- It could be the steering rack, but it could be track-rod-ends, balljoints, bearings, tie rods , anti roll bar bushes... best to have an inspection - I'll find you a good garage if you give me the first three digits of your postcode.

--- In general this sort of problem is caused by the toe in/ toe out setting being wrong, caused by wear and tear, a hard knock, potholes or kerbing. ---

Can you give me a bright detailed photo of each of your front tyres, taken from kneeling down near the headlight, showing the tread of the tyre? I can diagnose a fair bit from the tread wear.
