How do you fit cam belt on Renault Clio W reg double overhead engine

Please give engine details as shown in the logbook, give me the full car details if possible.



Is it the locking of the cams that youre stuck with?
or the whole procedure of locking the cams, loosening the belt, removing the belt, testing the tensioner and then fitting the new belt, checking it is set correctly and resetting the tensioner?

Are you using the car at the moment - if so whats the mileage and where abouts are you situated -
You will need to hire a cam locking tool from local tool merchants - if I know your'e location I can send you to the right place for the tool.

Apart from the cam locking tool you want some tippex or snopake for marking the pulleys as an extra safety measure - you'll need a half decent socket set and a range of ring spanners. Gloves are a good idea due to the sharp edged nature of the belt and pulleys.

(the locking tool is a wedge you put between the two top pulleys to stop them turning when the belt comes off)
