UK Car Repair: 1971 RR Corniche, good cars, windscreen

Question
Hi William,
I'm interested in purchasing a '71 Corniche Convertible. Is there any thing particular that I should watch out for?  Are these good cars or should I be looking a later models?  How can one tell if it's a genuine convertible or one that has been converted from a 2 door coupe?  Any other advice will be greately appreciated.
Cheers,
Albert.

Answer
You need to have someone who knows the cars examine it for you pre-purchase. I personally prefer the earlier cars such as this but of course they are almost forty years old, They always suffered from cracked bodywork at the door rear end and at the bottom of the windscreen posts.  Very few conversions have been done and you can tell by the chassis No.
