UK Car Repair: Renault Megane 1999 - Valve Breakage after Cylinder Head Rebuild, renault megane 1999, technical bulletins

Question
Hi

I recently saw this notice from Renault after my cambelt snapped. http://www.bgautomotive.co.uk/pdfs/technical_bulletins/TB0704.pdf
do you know anything about this? If so, do you know the dangers of just fixing the broken valves and not all of them?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Steve, I have read your bulletin. I have not heard of this before, but If I have learned anything in this job, it is that you never stop learning. It seems fairly straight forward. If you just change the broken valves, then others will bend and break after assembly. The bulletin speaks of a mis-aligned valve train, which would definitely cause major problems under load. My advice is simple, Listen to the bulletin. - Paul
