where on earth do I find the horn on my Peugeot 306xt?

I'm tempted to say pump it! I don't actually know, but first why are you looking for it? Have you checked the fuses, usually a horn works via a relay, if you push the botton you ought to be able top hear the relay 'click" if not, the problem is likely in the operating circuit.
