Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi engen light on, mitsubishi shogun, fuel injector

Hi Anthony,

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2 DID lwb. The problem I have is that now recently the Shogun starts cutting out and then regains power. The engine light comes on while this is happening. If I switch the Shogun off for a wile and start it again, it returns to normal.

Do you have an idea of what is coursing this?

I am not familiar with the Shogun, so my advise will be somewhat generic.  This sounds like it may be an ignition, air, fuel or timing problem.  You should first give it a good tune-up.  Replace the plugs, plug wires, distrib. cap & rotor, air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, and run some fuel injector cleaner through it.  If that fails, have your timing checked.
