UK Car Repair: 1992 Fiesta XR2i cooling system, fiesta xr2i, bridge connection

Question
Fiesta XR2i 1.6 (8 valve NOT turbo or zetec). The fan is not working and the engine is overheating. I have changed the thermostat housing (with a used one with a new thermostat intact) and replaced the thermostatic switch with a new one but the fan still won't click in. I have bridged the connections and the fan is definitely functional but I'm not sure what my next step should be.

Thank you!

Answer
Well, in the meantime if you drive it, keep the bridge connection so that the fan works. Where did you bridge it to get it to work? If you connect the wires at the switch the fan should work if not the relay is most likely the fault, it will be in the fuse box if you don't have a new one switch it with one of the same from the box. Let me know.
