i have no dashboard lights when headlights switched on and would be grateful if you could tell me which fuse or relay  i could check the headlight adjuster also isnt on

Do the dash lights work in any position? They should also come on with the sidelights. Is the dimmer switch functional? I do not have access to a fuse chart but there should be one on the fuse cover. If not you can check the fuses with a test light.  If you have no test equipment, find the interior light fuse and take it out, you can now insert the other fuses one by one and see if they are good.
