UK Car Repair: car pulling to the left, travaling, steering wheel

Question
ford escort 1996 1.8 td hatchback when i brake from 70-40 the car pulls to the left the problem seems to be at the front part od the car. when i am braking there is no vibration of any sort & and no vibration when travaling at speed. Can you help

Answer
I presume the pull is turning the steering wheel.  If so, it is almost certainly a problem with the right front brake assy.  There may be a leak or the hose to that side may be blocked.  If the pulling isn't trying to turn the steering wheel, then the problem is in the right rear brake assy.  Bad tyres can often cause strange handling too, but I suspect the Brakes.
