UK Car Repair: 00 OPEL KADETT 200ise euro, opel kadett, johannesburg south africa

Dear Sir

I am from Johannesburg South Africa who owns an opel kadett 200ise euro.  I have been plagued by an annoying fault that no opel technician can diagnose.

The problem is as follows:
Whilst driving, the engine management light (ORANGE) switches on and the vehicle turns off and cannot be restarted for a good few minutes whilst the light is on.  The vehicle needs to be left alone for a while before it can be started again. This fault is intermittent. I have noticed that the fuel consumption is also much higher.

I would highly appreciate it if you could advise me on this matter. PLEASE HELP.

Shiraaz, the engine appears to be overfueling, how often is intermittent? The first step is to check the fuel pressure, perhaps the regulator is bad. You may have to take it to someone who can do this and can also scan the computer for a fault code. good luck
