UK Car Repair: vectra electrics, fuse panel, abs light

hi I own a 97 vectra 2.5 sri on a 97 plate,i have just lost my speedo normal and digital also my abs light has just come on . i was changing fuses just before it went wrong is it possible that i have done something wrong around the fuse area. any help would be much appriecated

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I had to deal with an injured animal.

Anyway...

The fuse panel is what you were probing so I would look at your fuse diagram and make sure you have all the appropriate fuses in place. Also, make sure you didn't make a booboo and push a fuse connector out of the panel. You can do this by pulling out the fuses one by one and looking into the socket with a flashlight to see if all the little metal parts are still in place. If one or two have jumped out you can press the terminal back in and hold it in place as you reinsert the fuse. If that is of no help, try jiggling the fuses to check for a broken lead. If you find one, you will have to decide if you really want to get into it yourself or take it to a shop.
