UK Car Repair: Power Windows, pwr windows, jumper wire

Question
I HAVE A 86 SER 3 JAG. NO PWR TO CONSOLE FOR PWR WINDOWS, SUN ROOF, OR DOOR LOCK'S. ONLY NEED WINDOWS TO WORK. RELAY'S NOT IN KICK PANEL'S WHERE MANUAL LOCATE'S THEM. ANY SUGGESTION'S?

Answer
Hi Jack,
Door locks and windows/sun roof are on different systems but may just be power supply.

Windows/Sun roof
First make sure the master switch is turned on. (Console)
Next pull the round relay located in the right Aux relay/fuse panel. It is the round relay located on the far right and up high on the aux panel.
Note the pin numbers on the relay (30/51,85,86,87) with a test light check for power in the relay socket where 30/51 plugged into. Also check for power (key-on) in the socket that 85 had plugged into. Then check that 86 socket is a ground. If they are OK, get or make a Male/Male jumper wire and connect sockets 30/51 and 87 together and try the windows. If they operate test the relay by powering on the bench, #85 and ground 86 to hear a click. If you do hear a click, power 30/51 and 85 and put your test light on 87 with the ground lead grounded and ground 86 to see your test light light up. If that works, check that the Thermal brakers will conduct current. Just to the right of the Aux fuse block there are 3 thermal brakers in a row. they are #2 and #3.

Door locks.
I need to know if they are the solenoid type or motor type. Easy to tell. When they were working you would hear a loud Clunk noise from the trunk each time you locked the drivers door if it was the solenoid type.
