Volkswagen Repair: 2006 VW Beetle Convertible, coolant system, obd ii

Question
QUESTION: My blue cool light comes on when I first start up then it turns to flashing red, after driving about two blocks it goes off.  They replaced the sensor in the coolant system and it still flashes red.  What next?

ANSWER: It is normal to have the BLUE light come on momentarily, but not the RED. After having replaced the sensor, and the fluid topped off, it may be necessary to have the error code reset; this should stop the RED light.

QUESTION: Where is the error code reset button?

Answer
Brenda,  Sorry I should have been more specific.  This is done with a OBD-II test device or other special test equipment that normally only a mechanic has, although the DIY can easily purchase one if desired ($50 - $250).  However, you may try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes; no guarantee but worth a try.
