Volkswagen Repair: windshield wiper, windshield wiper, park position

Question
The piece that attaches to the wiper arm, the part that makes the wiper arm move, in the sleep position, goes down firts, then anly goes partially up windshield and then stops.  What is the problem?  I had thought the wiper arms were stripped, but that was not the issue.

Sounds like the wiper motor has lost its park position. If it was just removed then reinstalled then the motor was put in wrong. The motor has the capability in its self of knowing when to stop. If it has forgotten where the position is then the motor will act up and cause a problem like you are having. Good luck.
