Volkswagen Repair: How do i disconnect a car alarm on a 1999 volkswagon jetta!, volkswagon jetta, car alarm

Question
My girlfriend was recently in an accident and she got hit in the rear bumper of her 1999 volkswagon jetta and her trunk got smashed in enough to make the the alarm go off. I was just needing to know how to disconnect the alarm for the time being untill she gets it fixed. She just has to keep her car unlocked.

Answer
If you just want to have the alarm not activate then unplug the switch on the hood or the trunk at the latch. The alarm only sets when all the doors and the radio is  closed. You can not disable the alarm completely. The alarm module is in the comfort module. The car will not start without it. If unplugging one of the latch switches doesn't work then take a wire and jump the connection between the terminals and lock the car. If no beep is heard then the alarm is not active and the  alarm is should not go off. If it does you have a problem at the horn. On the other hand if the alarm is not set the battery may be discharged. The alarm needs to be set to make the car go to sleep of its electrical systems. In 99 model year A4 Not A3 so 99 and a half new body style the battery may be weak over time.If the car is garaged see if you can open the hood and just leave it open. Then lock the doors. Any lights that remain on no matter what method you choose then unplug them.
