Volkswagen Repair: acellearation, agin, catalytic converter

I have a 92passat and when I get on the gas it will go up to 80mpr and when i get to a hill it will slow down. when I put gas in ti or stop for a while it will go with not a problem but the next day it starts all over agin

Hosea, thank you for your question.  if so equipped, the catalytic converter may be getting plugged up.  Also you may have a problem with the fuel pump or dirt in the fuel tank that is plugging up the lines.  Additionally, the carb or TBI may also be getting dirty.
