Hello there,
Wonder if you can give me some advice. My Car above hase started to stall whilst slowing down and going at slow speeds, when the clutch is dipped. I don't really know too much about cars but I did clean the distributator cap and cleaned the contacts of the thing inside the cap, this did work for a few days but it has now started to stall again.

Any ideas would be brilliant many thanks

Rick, thank you for your question.  If I understand your question, your car is stalling out when you are slowing down or driving slow speeds while your clutch is out or not engaged.  Several things could be going on at once.
1. Bad fuel or water in fuel, this happens often when the price of fuel goes up.
2. In need of a complete tune up: distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, adjustment of timing.
3. The magnetic pickups in the distributor are failing, that requires replacement.
4. Can be the electronic ignition module is failing.
5. Something that usually never happens on Fuel Injection, it is “vapor locking”, this is caused by a clogged vapor canister, dirty fuel filter, or fuel pump going out.
With all of that said, start with #1 by adding Fuel injector cleaner, if the problem continues, which is very possible, do the complete tune up.
I hope this helps.

Answer
Rick, thank you again for your question.  on both problems they sound like the engine is out of timing by at least 15 degrees probaly more.  usually when cam belts make noise that will be that it is out of timing and also not tightened to the proper torque specification.
That is where i would start the search.
hope that helps
