Volkswagen Repair: Need to identify Engine year or model, bosch alternator, pressure control valve

Question
Hi,

I'm is somewhat of a quandary. I recently bought a Trike made in AZ with a VW Engine and Automatic Transmission. My problem is I don't know what year it is or what parts to order. I want to order a set of points, condenser, Rotor, Distributor cap, wires and plugs and V-Belt. Oil scavenger screen.

All I have to go on is that it is supposed to be a 1766cc engine. The Serial Number on the heads is 211-101-102-E with the number A541 above the 211 number.  It has dual SOLEX Carbs. the belt is from Germany, the fuel pumb is from Brazil, and it has both an oil pressure control valve and an oil pressure relief valve. It has a BOSCH Alternator. The condenser is on the outside of the Distributor. It has Headers and 4 exhaust pipes one over the other on each side. There is no oil filter, it apparently has an oil scavenger according to a book I purchased.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. It looks like you folks have all the parts I may need.

Sincerely,

Answer
Doug,
I think I have all of your parts. Most likely, you have the Bosch 009 distributor, a centrifugal advance model that works good with dual carbs. If you loosen the clamp and take the cap off, you should be able to see the part number on the housing. It'll be a long number, with 009 at the end. It could be an 050 model but they're pretty rare. Email me at mmccalips@acsworld.com or cell, 717-250-1450. You should adjust the valves, as long as they're not hydraulic. I'll try to call your number ASAP! Thanks!
