Volkswagen Repair: TDI glow plug replacement, jetta tdi, infinite resistance

I have a 98 Jetta TDI with a check engine light and when I interrogate it with VAG-COM it says "01050 glow plug monitoring intermittent". I think this means I need to replace a glow plug. My question is, which one? Is there a way to tell without removing them? If I remove them will I be able to tell?

Take off the glow plug power bar and check each glow plug with an ohm meter.  Just removing and reinstalling the bar will fix any bad connections.  Check the three glow plugs on the right side of the head with your ohm meter as well.
Infinite resistance means it's burnt out.
