The antenna mast is the actual part that you see protruding on the outside. I don't know what kind of antenna you have?
1. Electric - extends when radio is turned on, retracts automatically when radio is turned off.
2. Flexible Mast - Stays out all the time, doesn't move up or down.
3. Retractible - Can be pushed down manually, to protect from breakage.
The type of antenna dictates the type of mast. The flexible mast is easy to replace. The others require removing the cable from under the antenna, or inside the car, and should be done by a mechanic.
