Volkswagen Repair: What can make a rotary sound?, rear wheel bearings, wheel bearing

Question
1998 golf 1.8L. 144.000 km., dry/dusty, good mantaines, Boots are holle and no contact with axel, wheel bearing had been change resently.

Answer
Deonisio,

I'm not quite sure, but you say the wheel bearing has been changed, is the noise coming from the same wheel?
If it is you may have bent the backing plate behind the rotor and it could be rubbing against the brake rotor.

If not check the rear wheel bearings. With the vehicle raised, spin the tire and listen for a rumble sound. Also check for free play by holding the tire top and bottom and shaking it, it should be solid.

Good Luck,

Paul
