Volkswagen Repair: 2004 Jetta Brake Lights, warranty repair, ligths

Recently my brake ligths (only) will come on while the car is parked, specifically overnight. Once I gently tap the brake pedal they will go off. Is this related to the security system? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the 2004 electrical system, as I do not have the wiring diagrams.  However I think you could be right about the security system, because it will flash the brakelights when activated.  See your dealer, this should be a warranty repair.
