Volkswagen Repair: 94 Volkswagen Jetta, vw jetta, volkswagen jetta

Question
I have A 94 VW Jetta, while my daughter was driving it home one night, it died on her. I had it towed to my home and proceeded to go through the basics. It had A spark A little yellow but it seemed to be ok, it was getting gas to the injectors and no obstructions in the airway, on reason to not run.I checked the timing marks, they all lined up,I dont know where to go from here. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Answer
It had a spark A little yellow.  How about a bright blue one that if you had onto the end your arm will jerk away with the jolt.   (80.000 volts) should jump a 1/4 to 1/2" with a cracking noise. Yellow says something is wrong. Really wrong.  I'm thinking coil but can't be sure on the info you gave me but that is where I'd put some money.  I, because its me, would grab another coil from anything(Chev v8 ) and hook it up to see if that works better.  Basically , a coil is a coil except for its performance be it 60,000 or 100,000V.  Doesn't have to be a new one from VW  you could try the wreckers if cash is tight and if it is not the coil no big cash loss.  That's why I would try to borrow off another vehicle to be sure.
