QUESTION: 3 years ago i bought a beautiful 2000 Volvo S80 with 130K miles.  3 weekes after purchase the oil pressures light came on.  SLUDGE!  Paid almost $4K to repair engine. Now, exactly 3 years later oil pressure light comes back on. Now they say metal shavings from main bearing.  HELP!  car is in excellent physical condition. Is this vehicle worth saving?

ANSWER: if you have shavings from main bearings  than you need new engine go with used can buy if for $1500  for used engine

QUESTION: Yes, but by the time we pay someone to put it in, and if it doesnt work then we are out again.  What is the average of putting the used engine in and where is the best place to buy a used engine?  if the used doesnt work? I also heard that the 200-2004 volvo engines run hot, do you know if this is true and if Volvo back this?
