Volvo Repair: volvo s80 computer, volvo s80, tyre pressure

Question
I drive a 2007 Volvo S80. I just had the battery replaced last weekend, and as I was driving home from the battery shop the tire pressure warning light came on. My tire pressure is okay and was at 38psi in all 4 tires. The pressure is not low. Since then, every time I start the car, that light blinks for a minute, then goes off, but about 10 minutes later I get the warning again which stays on while driving. The other thing I noticed is now the power windows require me to hold the button to operate them rather than just press and release. The “auto down or up function stopped working once the battery was replaced.

Did replacing the battery cause my computer system to malfunction, and does it need to be rebooted to clear everything and normalize the car? How do I do this?

Answer
Hello,
yes, the battery replacıng caused these points.

1.Auto down/up function for the windows : By holding the button, close the window and after the window has been closed do not release the button, wait by holding the button approx 10-15 seconds more,
and repeat this procedure for opening the window; after the window has been opened completely, do not release the button, wait by holding the button approx 10-15 seconds more,
you can re-calibrate the windows by these operations.

About, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System; TPMS

The TPMS system is a monitoring system for the drive to keep the right tire pressure in the vehicle.

You will get a message in the Driver Information Module if the pressure drops a certain % from recommended tire pressure. Recommended tire pressure is present in the owner's manual and in the fuel filler lid.

If cars with TPMS are driven with so called "comfort pressure", there will be unnecessary tire pressure warnings to the driver (in the DIM) at for example cold wheater. So it is not been recommend to use comfort pressure due to the sensitiveness of the TPMS system.

Criteria to switch on the low tire pressure message:

• The tire pressure has dropped more that 22% of the recommended pressur.

* Criteria to switch off the low tire pressure message:

* •The tire pressure must the filled up at least to 95% of the recommended pressure AND then the car needs to be driven for 5 minutes with a speed more than 40 km/h (25mph)

• Or fill the pressure at least to 95% of the recommended pressure with ignition on.

If these steps do not help you, the system has to be recalibrated again by using VIDA (Volvo Service Computer) in a Volvo Service.

I hope, this info can be helpful for you.
