Volvo Repair: 1989 240 Blower, replacement headlights, xenons

Question
QUESTION: Hi, we are restoring the 240 and are on our 3rd blower motor. We've tried two different manufacturers and they just seem to get too loud after a while. Are they supposed to be loud or is there a solution? Hope to hear from you soon.

ANSWER: Tim, They arent very quiet to begin with.  I use the black motors that are made in canada.  They seem to last and the noise seems to be in the tollerable range.  Roger

QUESTION: Maybe I can put some dynamat somewhere under the dash. I would be have to bring the car to you and let you work on the blower...what is your recommendation for replacement headlights?

Answer
Tim, There really isnt anything you can do about it.  The dynamat is good stuff but for a blower motor, it wouldnt work.  If there was a way to quiet it down, I would know.  The 240 is my specialty.  Im going to put the euro headlights in my wagon and use the Xenon kits you can get on Ebay.  I have the xenons in my other cars an its awesome.  The euro lights are glass.  Roger
