Volvo Repair: Removing Exterior S60 Trunk Lid Trim, rubber foam, trap moisture

Question
I have been everywhere, and nobody seems to know, incl. the dealership. I am trying to remove the plastic trunk trim (the piece with the volvo emblems, license plate, etc. attached)so I can put some rubber foam underneath to stop it from rattling, and I can't figure out how. I removed the carpet from the inside of the lid, and it seems it is held on to the trunk with little clips, but I am afraid I will break something if I just start pulling the platic away from the metal. Please help! Everyone Ive talked to says they have never had to remove this piece and they don't know how.

Answer
Stefan, pry it off gently and pray it doesn't break. Try to pry as near as possible to the pins going through the sheet metal. Don't use foam as that will trap moisture and soon you will have rust. Buy new clips with the emblem and install fresh.
