Volvo Repair: 1990 Volvo 240dl Brake Lights, self tapping screws, volvo 240dl

I have replaced the bulbs and the fuses seem to be fine, but my brake lights still are not working.  Any ideas?

  LJ, First make sure you have installed the CORRECT bulbs. Probably the ground wires to the tailight housings are bad. Don't try to repair. Run new wires from the chassis to the housing ground strips. A couple of self tapping screws makes this an easy job. Use a test light to figure out which is ground.
