Volvo Repair: Volvo XC70 Driveshaft Noise, volvo xc70, drive shaft

I had a knocking noise under my seat when going from forward to reverse, thought it was my support bearing so I replaced the drive shaft with a rebuilt one, and still have the knocking, do you think its a motor mount or the bevel gear in the front of the shaft, PS its doesn't make the noise when the shaft was out.

Robert, I have seen those bevel gears go bad but not very often.  I would double check all the mounts to see if they are hitting the transmission. What we have also seen is the rear coupler make a howling noise.  This is the bad part about having one of these.  Annoying noises are a constant issue.   Roger
