Volvo Repair: Replacing a 240DL grille, condensor, place thanks

Question
The front grille of my 1990 240DL station wagon fell off while I was driving this morning, and it shattered when it hit the road. I recovered most of it, including the logo. I've found replacements online, including the pins and springs, but the parts won't arrive until later this week. Is it safe to drive the car without a grille? And how difficult will it be to install the grille? And should I be concerned about the fact that it fell off in the first place?

Thanks!

Answer
Those grills get brittle over the years.  Its not hard to reinstall it.  If you are driving locally around town, I wouldnt worry about it.  I see cars without grills all the time.  Its ugly as heck but no danger.  Its to protect the condensor from rocks, etc.  Roger
