Volvo Repair: 89 volvo 240 dl, volvo 240 dl, fuel pump relay

Question
need to replace the fuel pump and get the thing operational, what do I need to do to bypass the roll ovedr circuit in the system?  I have replaced the fuel pump and it would not engage

  Robert, there is no rollover circuit. You have a rollover valve in the fuel fill neck that is strictly mechanical and prevents fuel spillage from the neck. If the pump is not firing up, check to make sure you have spark first (yes, the pumps will not energize unless the pump relay sees a Hall signal) and then check the fuel pump relay.
