Volvo Repair: 1985 volvo loosing power, negative cable, negative battery

I have replaced the battery,replaced a new alternator. The wiring harness for engine and parts,was replaced by volvo mechanic in July of "08. The 1985 240DL wagon is still having the same problems,drive a few miles all power is gone and car stops.Battery drained. I have two belts on the alternator! what is the problem,the warning lights barley came on today and the car still shut down after 4 miles. Any Ideas? what is a DRAW TEST?

donald, a draw test is when you take a test light and put it in between the negative battery terminal and the battery.  take the negative cable off the battery post.  Connect the lead to the test light onto the cable.  Now put the testing portion of the light on the battery post.  If it shines on, then there is a major problem.  I dont know what else to tell you Donald.  This sounds like its a major issue and I would really have to look at this to determine whats wrong.  Come to Florida and I'll fix it.  Roger
