Volvo Repair: 1996 850 drivers side knee bolster etc, floorboard, instrument cluster

Question
My wedding ring slid from the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel of my '96 850 Wagon, so I am trying to access (and assess) where it could be. It did not drop onto the floorboard or behind the carpet. I've removed the top cover and the housing around the ignition switch in hopes of loking down. I don't want to pull out the whole dash, but can't figure out how to remove the knee bolster. I have removed three bolts, but wonder if there are more that I can't see. How many bolts are there? Anything else I should take apart while I'm in there looking? Thanks! g

Answer
Gordon, Im sure your wife is looking over your shoulder with a Bat in hand.  HA.. SOrry, I couldnt resist.  There are nuts to remove also.  You didnt say which bolts you removed so I can only assume you removed the side bolts.  Look at the bolster, there are 4 holes in it.  There are nuts holding that thing in place.  You need a 13mm socket and extension.  We can go further if you need more help.  Roger
