Land Rover Repair: baffled w/ my landrover, auto electrician, general mechanics

Question
When my landrover is very low on gas, I hear a sort of rattling noise under car when I am going very slow? Also I have to let the engine run for a few minutes before I can step on the gas and go. Otherwise when I step on the gas , the gas doesn't seem to get to the engine very quickly. I also wondered why my radio and both sky lights stopped working. We checked fuses and they seem fine? Thank you so much I am hoping you have some advise!

Answer
Hi Leigh,

could there be something loose inside your gas tank? Only way to tell is to empty the tank, remove the gas pump and drop the tank in order to inspect it.  I would think most general mechanics could do this.

As for the radio and interior lights not working, sounds to me like a ground fault problem.  Best bet is to take your Disco to an auto electrician and have them track down the fault.  It may not be the fuses but a corroded or loose wire somewhere.  Dealer can do this but it will be expensive as it is mostly labour.

Best of luck,
