Volvo Repair: 1995 Volvo 850 T5-R, volvo 850 t5, volvo dealer

I'm sure you've answered this before, but I can't find it in the previous list, so here goes... I have 95 850 T5-R (Yellow, for those who wanna know), andyways, The odometer hasn't worked for a while, sounds fairly expensive to fix, the volvo dealer said $110 just in parts, an import repair shop (whom I trust), said that the gears in the odoemeters frequently fail, and he could possibly glue the gear back in place, I took the instrument cluster out, and can't get to the odemeter, I'm afraid I'll break it. Is it possible to glue it, and also, is it possible to roll the millage up to what I beleive the true milage is?  Thanks for your time, and I look forward to your answer.  Brad

 Anything is possible! Ship it to a speedometer/guage specialty shop before you break a housing. Google one in your area and get a quote first. The gears usually break or strip. Should be $100-150 to repair it. Most ethical shops will NOT change the setting from what they receive for obvious reasons. But.... I'm sure no one has ever asked them to ADD miles??
