Volvo Repair: volvo v90 coolant problem, volvo v90, losing coolant

Question
my v90 is losing coolant. all the usual suspects have been investigated. there seems to be excessive pressure in the coolant system. the car is not running hot and does not have any of the usual signs of head/gasket issues. there is no event (overheating, etc.) leading up to the problem. the car runs fine.

thanks, chris

Answer
Chris,  there seems to be excessive pressure in the coolant system. First sign of a headgasket going bad. Check for the presence of hydrocarbons in the cooling system. Use a gas analyzer or buy the dye kit from Napa to be sure.

Happy New Year!
