Volvo Repair: broken radio in a 1996 850R, broken radio, stock unit

Question
what's your best guess at the cost to replace the original premium sound radio? I am looking to buy this car and the owner says she will consider a lower price because the radio "does not work"

Mia, why bother?  Those radios arent the best in the world.  You can get a nice Bose or Kenwood unit for half the cost and it you would be satisfied alot more than with a stock unit.  Those arent cheap.  Id say 3-4 hundred.  I would call the dealer to be sure.  Roger
