Volvo Repair: 2002 volvo s60 flame trap box, flame trap, volvo specialist

I took my volvo to dealership b/c it was making some noise, they said the flame trap box needs to be replaced, they want to charge $1375.00 for parts and labor. can i do this myself, (pepboys and firestone car repair places didnt even know what this part was).

Wanda, That is too expensive.  No you can do it yourself.  And forget going to those morons that dont even know how to change oil.  I suggest a Volvo Specialist shop.  That repair should be no more than 600 dollars and Im quoting high.  The 02 is a model year that lots of parts need to come off just to access the flame trap box.  If you are in Florida, I can handle the repairs for you.  Roger
