Volvo Repair: adjusting valves, valve cover gasket, valve shims

Hi. I have a 91 740 turbo Volvo (S/W). There is about two valves or more that are making noise, just noticeable. The car is driven and on highway. I notice there was no valve adjuster when I replace the valve cover gasket.

Marco, thats because you manually replace the valve shims.  Need to measure gap with feeler gauge and take the reading.  Ex 16mm etc.  Then make up the difference by measuring the new shim.  Hope this makes sense.  Personally I would let a Volvo shop handle valve adjustments.  Roger
