Volvo Repair: eletronic engine conrtol module and soft ware, vovlvo, engine throttle

Question
the engine control module and software on my 2001 vovlvo s-60 malfunctioned after 89,000 mile and now must be replaced initially I was told the engine throttle module and software was faulty but could be replaced under a volvo extended warranty, when this did not fix the "limp home syndrome" the control module was said to be the problem. AM I GETTING THE TRUTH or shouldI look for anotter car? BMW perhaps?

Answer
Jerome, tough call. Without testing, I cannot know for sure. You do not needanother car, just this one fixed properly. The modules do fail, but rarely. I assume the check engine light is on since it's in limp  mode? What codes are in it? Who's doing the work for you? I assume they refunded your money when it did not fix the problem? All these factors have to be considered before making any judgements.
