Volvo Repair: Volvo Problem, 1996 volvo 960, volvo 960

I have a 1996 volvo 960. 2 problems.
1) the lifts make a loud clicking sound. Not all the time just some of the time.

2) The engine won't start. Lights ans everything else comes on, but no noise from the engine. I could play with the stick shift and then it would start, but that does not work either now. Jump starting does not work either......

 Karlean, (1) After you get it running, the clicking should clear out. Change oil to proper weight and you should be ok. If not, an oil pressure reading with a "manual" guage is in order.

   (2) Replace the nuetral safety switch underneath the shifter. Take care to calibrate it properly. HTH
