Volvo Repair: Volvo v40 camshafts, interference engine, volvo v40

Question
Hi im carry out a repair on a v40 where the cambelt snapped and im wondering how you set the cams up as there is no key way on the inlet camshaft pulley. Thanks Len.

Answer
Len, if you "snapped" the belt, you probably have bent valves. This is an "interference" engine, and a definite valve bender.
The timing set up is difficult at best. You will need a shop manual or Alldata to get it right. Also there are fixtures you will need to hold the cams in proper relationship to each other and the crankshaft. Not a user friendly repair. Sorry for the all bad news.
