Volvo Repair: 850 non-turbo 95 GLE, blown head gasket, odd question

Question
Friend told me about an issue with the white blocks, when  they are started and then turned off quickly without being warmed up. The engine may not have enough of time to build up the pressure so when the lifters settle, they are not where they are suppose to be. Result low compression, no start. I believe that my son had done this and the car is currently in a service station. Have good spark, fuel and timing belt is lineup correctly. Compression was very low yesterday and now although at 75 in almost all cylinders is 100 more than the prior day. Mechanic surprised that the compression is rising. A friend mentioned to me the issue with starting and turning off. Any idea on this?

Answer
Al, never heard of that one.  Sounds like a blown head gasket to me.  how is this guy testing the compression?  Is he a Volvo tech or just some Joe at a garage?  Roger

Al, REAL NICE.  You couldnt even come back with a follow-up or give me more information?  You dont know me and I dont know you but I will NOT be insulted with a 1 for knowledge.  Give me the facts and what I asked and I can try to help you.  When a MASTER Volvo Technician is presented with a odd question like yours, I can only go by what you are describing not by what some Friend has told you.  Good day and dont bother posting a follow-up.
