Volvo Repair: electronic systems required message, volvo s80, 2001 volvo s80

My 2001 Volvo S80 2.9 recently showed 'low battery voltage' on the message center. The following day it would not start. Purchased new battery from local Volvo dealership and now am noticing message 'electronic systems required' plus the battery icon light is now on.  Could you please HELP!!!

Heather, that s80 most likely needs a voltage regulator update. It may also be the actual alternator. There was a bulletin on the voltage regulator and the dealer should have told you about it.  Either take it to the dealer or Volvo Specialist shop.  Roger
