Volvo Repair: Problems after a dead battery, manual switches, dead battery

Question
Hi, I have a 1999 S-80 T6, with 30,000 miles. That being the problem. We rarely use this car so sometimes, especially in the winter, the battery just runs down from lack of use.  In the past when this would happen, I would charge it with a battery charger, not by jumping it.  I would then drive it for a couple of hours during whcih time I noticed that some of the accessories  wouldn't work. The door locks, the manual switches for the dome lights, and some others.  After a hour or so of driving these functions would return.  But not this last time.  I remember something above a low battery function that would shed some of the accessories if the battery was running low.  Could this be the cause?  If not what could it be?

Thanks, John

Answer
John, Sorry to say but yes, that is a problem but anyway, I would buy a Brand new battery and try it.  If not, then a Volvo shop will have to scan the car and see whats going on.  Its probably something stupid like everything else on these cars.  Roger
