Volvo Repair: Canadian s80 needs a reboot??, new s80, keyless entry

Canadian 2007 s80 3.2awd  Fully loaded with all additional packages, minus nav and V8.
Dear sir, we have less than a thousand Kilometers on this new car.  My wife and I were entering our new S80 with keyless entry when the alarm went off. I consider this odd because the car opened for her and she had her fob in her pocket. My wife who was getting in the passenger’s side of the car tried in vain to use her fob to shut down the alarm. About 10 seconds later I got to the car and also tried with my fob to shut off the alarm. About 40 seconds later the alarm stopped and the car would not start. We have tried using the key to lock and unlock the car… nothing. We have tried inserting the fob into the slot and pressing start… nothing.  I have called the dealership and they have no Idea! I called “Volvo on call” and their solution was to send a tow truck Monday. Is there some way to reboot the car that I can do?? Also I should point out that the alarm appears NOT to be on presently. The light on the top of the dash is not flashing.
Interestingly the Keyless entry seems to still be working to enter the car only, but none of the features on the Fob activate the car in any way! The mirrors remain folded in and the car is quite dead.

Philip, welcome to the world of the S80.  Unfortunately there isnt anything that you can do but I would try this.  Lock the car and unlock it again with the key fob then try it.  For fun, put your foot on the brake and push the start button.  If still nothing then Tow truck idea will have to work.  Roger
