Volvo Repair: S80 ABS troubles, volvo repair, volvo dealer

Question
I have a 2000 S80 that I purchased 3 months ago. The ABS needs service light keeps coming on. An area Volvo repair man quoted me $1000 to fix it. Can this car drive safely in the winter with a working ABS system?

Answer
yes you can drive it you will have regular brakes but abs helps in snow wetted streets  it is safer you have better control and better stopping braking performance so you better have it fixed  but try this it will take some time again before it comes back  take it to Volvo dealer  perform total  can software upgrade around $200 parts and labor  and delete all fault codes and see how long you can drive next time the abs light comes you will need the abs module just take it to Volvo dealer and tell the to replace it don't pay diagnostic labor again
