Volvo Repair: V70 Hatchback/Tailgate, torx bolts, point of impact

Question
My wife just backed our V70 station wagon into a truck with a lowered tailgate. It damaged the back door much more than I would have thought for a Volvo, and with no damage to the little truck.  The point of impact was near the locking mechanism.  Now the door is stuck shut.  When the key is used, you can see by the movement in the lock that it's trying to pop open.  The handle is of no use.  Is there any way for me to get this hatch/tailgate open so I may work on the lock myself, without taking it to a shop which will no doubt overcharge me?

Answer
Keith, those are fun arent they?  The easiest way to do that is to remove the lower catch.  You can access it by flipping the cargo door open and they you can see the 2 40 torx bolts.  Take them out and the door will open, then you can remove the panel and see whats going on.  Roger
