OVERDRIVE ARROW COMES ON WHEN CAR IS STARTED AND WON'T GO OFF EVEN WHEN BUTTON ON SHIFT PUSHED REPEATEDLY. SEEMS TO RUN SLUGGISHLY THOUGHT OIL AND TRANSMISSION FLUID ARE FINE.
WHAT ARE POSSIBLE CAUSES. I'M THINKING OF BUYING THIS VEHICLE.

you will need some wiring repair from shifter to transmission possible solenoid or relay  will be you problem  max repair by Volvo dealer will be from $200-$800  Volvo 240 are great cars they run forever and more miles makes them  even run better change oil on time and  Volvo 240 maintenance  on time and you will be ok for long time   don't forget to rate  me  thanks
