Volvo Repair: 95 Volvo 960: Slow to start, smell gas, diagnostic light, volvo 960

Question
My check engine light is on and my car takes a little while to cold-start.  When it does start after a cold sitting, I smell gas through the vents and, I think on the underside of the car - but I did not smell any gas in the engine compartment.  Regarding check engine light:  I checked the diagnostic light with the sensor in the terminal marked #2, with ignition key on (not started) and pressed the button for 1 second.  The codes I got were: 1-2-1, and 2-1-2, alternately.  Can you offer any advice or diagnosis?

Answer
Chris, check the front of the fuel rail.  Usually it leaks there causing the fuel smell. Also check to see if the fuel filter and pump have any leaks. The code you pulled were for air mass meter and a Lambda code.  I would clear them and see if they come back.  Roger
